Calling Members to Give Generously

Max Pedelty is the beautiful son of my good friends Mandy and Trevor Pedelty who live in Willington, County Durham.
He was born with conditions including Down's Syndrome, leukaemia and hypertonia, which means he has little muscle movement. Max has however made remarkable progress due to help from a local charity called Tabitha's Toys!
Tabitha's Toys, based in Frosterley, Weardale, was set up in memory of Tabitha Lees-Moore by her parents. Tabitha was born with Edward's Syndrome, a rare genetic condition that severly restricts mobility and communication. Tabitha, who died in 2009, defied all doctors' predictions to live to be three and her parents said her life changed completely when they built her a sensory room.
The charity loans sensory toys and equipment. It takes approximately £1500 to fully equip a room with fibre optics, bubble lamps and other sensory toys. To date the charity has helped 29 other children in the North East with complex special needs.
I have been inspired by Max and the wonderful work of Tabitha's Toys to undertake a fundraising challenge. My challenge is to walk the length of the Weardale Way non-stop! The Way starts at the Lindisfarne Memorial in Roker and finishes at Killhope Lead Mining Museum, a distance of 77 miles.
I will be starting this walk on Friday April 6th 2012. My fundraising target is £10,000.
I am using JustGiving for my fundraising.
A donation from the NFDC, for whatever amount, would be gratefully received!
Yours truly,
Si Martin
