Christmas Silly Season
Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat...and the serious industry news has been at least partially replaced by tales of high reach Xmas trees and reindeer hire.
First off, associate member Finning UK’s head office in Cannock Staffordshire is celebrating Christmas by displaying two Caterpillar machines (including a Cat 345CL ultra high reach machine with a 28 metre boom) on the front and decorated in lights donated by a local company wishing the passing public a Merry Christmas.
Not be be outdone, JCB has sent us details of equipment rental company boss Michael Gallacher – one of a handful of people in the UK to care for and rent out real life reindeers for special occasions – that has bought four brand new JCBs to add to his fleet. The machines – all JCB Loadall 531-70 models with telescopic handling ability – will be hired out to customers of Michael’s company, the GCS Group, based in Sittingbourne, Kent.
