HSE Launches Phase 3 of Shattered Lives Campaign

Last year, there were over 10'000 major injuries as a result of a slip or trip at work, and over 4,000 major injuries as a result of fall from height.

You might think you are doing everything you can to prevent slips, trips and falls in your workplace but everyone can do a lot more.

Visit the new Shattered Lives Campaign website and check how you can manage slip, trip and fall risks at work http://www.hse.gov.uk/shatteredlives/index.htm?ebul+slips/feb-10&cr=1

Access our new free downloadable posters, read the real life case studies and access our on line tutorials, STEP and WAIT to get all the practical guidance you need.

STEP: Slips & Trips eLearning Package

STEP, which launched as part of 2009's campaign, is an e-tool providing slip and trip guidance through interactive learning. It is an easy way to learn about slips and trips, their causes, how to prevent them and why stopping them is important.

STEP includes quizzes, videos, animations and interactive sequences. The package provides practical guidance and learning that will, if put into practice, help successfully tackle slips and trips in the workplace.

Work at height Access equipment Information Toolkit (WAIT)

New for the 2010 campaign, is the WAIT toolkit. If you need to occasionally work at height, and aren't sure about which access equipment to use, we've created WAIT to help you select the correct access equipment for the job.  It gives users practical advice and guidance on the factors to consider when selecting access equipment for planned work at height. It also gives guidance on how to work at height safely, plus useful information on some of the different types of access equipment available.
