Plasterboard - Notice to Members

It has recently been brought to my attention that the Environment agency will be removing the 10% rule for plasterboard waste as from the 1st January 2009.

Effectively any load of waste containing Plasterboard (Gypsum & other high sulphate bearing waste) is to be separated and then be either recycled or recovered. If the only solution is to landfill the material, (By special arrangement with the landfill operator) it should be deposited in a separate cell (container) that does NOT contain biodegradable waste.

Further information is available from the Environment agency website at.

(I have looked at the web site and to be honest it does not help H.B.)

Would members please forward any information they have to me directly and I will try and help with a list of Recycling plants and more information of disposal.
