World's largest high reach in fatal accident

Accident investigators are continuing to search for clues on a Dutch site where the Rusch TUHD90, the world's largest high reach demolition excavator, was involved in an accident that killed Ad Swanink, managing director of excavator modifier, STC BV.

The incident is surrounded by unprecedented levels of rumour and speculation about the probably cause, but it appears that the rear counterweight somehow became dislodged, falling from the machine and killing Mr Swanink.
